Saturday 17th April was beautiful weather for the first day of the season and the Silver Jack was bowled by our Lady Captain, Lynn Lowthian, and the first bowls of the year by Club Captain, Fred Dunlop, and Lynn. The attendance was limited due to COVID19 regulations but nevertheless our tradition was maintained. The club members who had passed on since 2019 were remembered and also Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh whose funeral took place later that day.
The first Jumbles competition followed at 1.00 pm although we were limited to twenty four players. A session on Sunday at 11.00 am is scheduled to accommodate those who could not play on the Saturday. We all hope that as the season progresses our routines will return to normal as the restrictions hopefully ease.
