This week, seven of our members, including four coaches, gained a recognised first aid qualification. The Emergency First Aid at Work certificate is nationally recognised and lasts for three years. It took place in the clubhouse which was an ideal setting. The subjects covered included the treatment of injuries caused by trips and falls, burns, dressing wounds and many other topics. A significant part of the training covered CPR and using an AED (automated external defibrillator). A good part of the training covered first aid for our junior members. Some of our newer members may not be aware but we have a defibrillator in the clubhouse should it ever be needed. If anyone would like a short demonstration just see Mike Nye in the clubhouse.
