Finals Weekend 2023

On the Sunday morning we played four matches; the Ladies’ and Men’s two bowls singles finals and the two Millenniums.

Yesi Smith played Helen Best in the Two Bowls singles final. Yesi had a convincing win with match score 19-5.

The Men’s match was another match between Frank Close and Ian Smith and what good match this was over 21 ends with Frank having his second win by 3 shots.

The Ladies’ Millennium Cup was between Paula Bolan and Val Bater. This was another good game with both players playing well. In the end Paula won her first trophy, the final score was 21-15.

The Men’s Millennium Cup was between Alan Bolan and Geoff Challis. This was another good final with one great shot by Alan at 13-13 all to get 4 shots. Alan won the final and the score was 21-15.

At around 2 o’clock the Ladies’ and Men’s Championship were played.

Yesi was in her 4th final against Lynn Lowthian. Yesi played well to win 21-5.

The Men’s final was a great match between Frank Close and Alan Bolan. They both played well with some great bowls but Alan won this one. The score was 21-15.

At 4 o’clock the Men’s Pairs final was played between Kevin Bone / Stan Hindson v Will Nye / George Steven over 18 ends. Will and George won with a score of 17-11.
